Hi, I’m Mary Claire

I’m a Georgia-based wedding and portrait photographer with more than a decade of experience, and I feel so grateful that this is the work I get to do every day. My approach is all about creating connection and seeking out beauty — resulting in images that feel real, captivating, and true to your story.

My faith is a central part of who I am and how I see the world: I believe that every person is created in the image of God and has inherent worth, and therefore deserves to be treated with dignity and kindness. It is my joy to serve others and create images that reveal the goodness and beauty I see in people, relationships, and creation.

I live in Atlanta with my husband, Andrew, our little cat, Marigold, and far too many houseplants. I’m grateful that my work as a photographer allows me to craft a life that reflects my values - which includes things like working from home, spending quality time with my people, cooking, thrifting, and getting outside for a long hike.

How It All Started

I’ve always been drawn to art. As a kid, I loved painting and drawing, which taught me early lessons about composition, color, and design. In high school I fell in love with photography — first as a hobby, then as a calling that grew into the most meaningful career I could imagine. Since then, I’ve photographed over 200 weddings all around the southeast, countless family and newborn sessions, and many professional head shots and brand photography too.

Along the way, I also worked in small-scale film production, which sharpened my eye for storytelling and the details that bring an image to life. More recently, I became a certified birth doula, an experience that taught me how to be present with people during life’s most transformative moments. All of this shapes the way I work behind the camera: with presence, connection, and a deep love for honest, beautiful storytelling.

Whether I’m photographing your wedding day, a family milestone, or a creative project, my goal is always the same: to create images that reflect your story with authenticity, artistry, and heart. I want you to look back at your photos and remember not just how it looked, but how it felt.

Wait, so what’s the art of the in-between?

The art in the in-between is where real life shows up—unguarded, unfiltered, and unbelievably beautiful in ways that are sometimes hard to see when you’re living it or too busy to press pause.

Because that’s where the soul of the story lives.

With a painter’s eye and a documentarian’s heart, I preserve those passing, precious seconds—so when you look back, you don’t just see how it looked…you feel how it was.
